The Adventures of Shari Black Velvet, Part 579
How is everyone doing in Engerland? How is everyone doing in the rest of the world?
At the moment I'm in the rest of the world. I'm actually Georgia. I haven't been to Georgia since 1994 when I saw Bon Jovi at the Fabulous Fox. But anyway... while in the surroundings of Atlanta I met up with Ely Dye of City Sleeps, a band so amazing that their amazingness amazes me. I have done a new face to face interview with Ely which will be in the next issue of Black Velvet (YOU HAVE TO READ IT). I got some awesome, awesome photos to go with it and Ely even played me some of the new City Sleeps material that not too many people have heard. It is truly amazing. I just hope we don't have to wait too long for it to be put onto a record label disc and released for the whole world to hear. If you have listened to 'Not An Angel', it is 100 times better - even though that album is fantastic as it is.
I'm actually sat in my hotel room with my Asus eee typing up the interview right now. I figured I'd get some work done instead of painting Atlanta red, because life is so crazy busy right now. The day I get back to England I have a show the same evening. (*waves to jetlag*) A couple of days later I fly off on yet more travels. No rest for the wicked... Only on a cramped up plane.
Check City Sleeps out at http://www.myspace.com/citysleeps and tell them Black Velvet says hi.
